CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management)

Critical Incident Stress Management(CISM) is a psychological intervention given in order for smooth restoration of a normal work environment after traumatic events, such as, natural disasters, airplane crashes, terrorist incidents, or the suicide of a coworker. CISM is conducted to reduce emotional impact of the victims and coworkers by facilitating grief and healing process and to help them restore their usual functioning and productivity. Impact Support is also designed to identify any high-risk individuals who need professional follow-ups and to provide plans of action.
There are several schools of thought in the U.S. on the methodologies regarding critical incident stress intervention. The consultants at J.EAP has received Basic as well as Advanced CISM certificate by Dr. Jeffrey Mitchell and his authorized trainers, founder of ICISF (International Critical Incident Stress Foundation).
